Who We Are

At Flow, we love New Zealand: the scenery, the diversity of the people and the array of lifestyle options the country offers.  This passion for where we live, who we work with, and the work we do are the foundations for Flow and the drivers of our company culture.

Flow is built on a shared desire to deliver value through innovative solutions and a commitment to sustainability

The company was founded in 2005 by Angie Crafer and Bronwyn Coomer-Smit who were soon joined by Ian Clark as the third director.  In addition to bringing years of experience and complementary expertise, the three founders believe it is possible to create a transportation planning and traffic engineering firm that fosters a fun, diverse, and creative work environment that provides high-quality work for its clients.

Flow sets itself apart by building strong, trusting relationships with our clients.  We focus on challenging traditional methods and taking a holistic and sustainable view of transport and its inter-dependency with land use planning to produce innovative solutions.

Flow’s strength comes from its highly talented team and maintaining strong relationships

Since 2005, Flow has grown in clients and staff, boasting a diverse team of over 20 transport engineers and transportation planners.  Flow’s highly skilled team offer experienced advice and qualified skills covering a wide range of transportation planning and traffic engineering matters.

Flow’s Vision

Flow’s vision relates to “shaping tomorrow’s transport choices”. “Shaping” involves influencing key decision makers; the public, clients, staff and colleagues as well as having an inspiring team known for challenging the norms, providing innovative outcomes and utilising advancements in assessment technologies. “Tomorrow’s transport” means actively understanding the future needs of our clients and stakeholders, including new transport and travel technologies. “Transport choices” will provide enduring outcomes that create more liveable communities.

Flow’s Philosophies

Flow has three key philosophies:

We want to help achieve safer, healthier, more environmentally friendly, prosperous and social communities while increasing accessibility for all, and making New Zealand an            even better place to live.
Through our work we will encourage integrated land use and transport planning to reduce vehicle trips and trip lengths and promote healthier forms of travel.
We will provide a happy and rewarding work environment by valuing staff contributions, providing staff with opportunities to be involved in varied and interesting projects, and     ensuring support to develop their careers.
