Large developments generally require transport assessments to support resource consent applications. Flow has undertaken multiple transport assessments for health related developments on the North Shore Hospital site. These projects have included a Renal Unit, the Assessment and Diagnostic Unit, an extension to the existing hospital podium and a parking building.
For each of these transport assessments, we applied traffic engineering and transport planning principles in consultation with the client, and associated architects and planners. This included reviewing parking demands for each development, determining the long term parking supply envisioned for the site and accessibility for patients, visitors and staff.
We undertook the overall assessments within a framework of immediate feasibility, medium term direction and the longer term overall master plan objectives, which ensured consistency with the site’s long term master-plan development objectives.
Flow continues to provide advice to the Waitemata District Health Board for ongoing master-planning of the site, and new developments on the site.
