Overview

Flow was responsible for providing transport planning and traffic engineering advice to Oceania Healthcare for their extension of the existing Eden Retirement Village in the Auckland suburb of Mount Eden. The project involves the establishment of a new three-story building, accommodating 48 retirement apartments with associated parking provision.

Flow’s involvement included providing technical advice to support the design process, assessing transport effects to assist in the resource consent process and liaising with Auckland Transport and Auckland Council officers. Flow successfully led a collaborative approach with Auckland Transport and Auckland Council to:

• address concerns of vehicle access onto an arterial road
• ensure that the transport aspects of the design resulted in safe movement in and out of the site

Consent for the development was approved within a very efficient time frame, with our client being extremely happy with the outcome.
