Tobie has been working in the industry for 19 years and he has broad transport planning, traffic engineering and project management experience. He worked in the United Kingdom for 4 years doing traffic and transportation planning and design, in both the public and private sectors in the Greater London area, working mainly on Transport for London (TfL) public transport and active mode projects. These projects for example included public transport route studies, bus priority projects and London Cycle Network projects.His experience whilst based in South Africa included an array of traffic engineering, transport planning and project management projects throughout South Africa and Africa. These included rail-planning studies (Port Elizabeth, Durban and Dar es Salaam); bus rapid transit infrastructure and operations studies (Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Kigali); and Transport master plans for various Metro, Local and District municipalities as well as for the Eastern Cape Province.He moved to New Zealand in 2018 and worked for Auckland Transport as an Infrastructure Operations Specialist within the Metro Services team. His focus in this role was to improve bus infrastructure to enable bus operators to maintain or improve bus journey times and bus service reliability. Tobias is experienced as a project manager carrying out cost, time, quality, stakeholder, and risk management as required for the successful completion of his projects.
