Kathryn is a Senior Associate for Flow Transportation Specialists. She is a Chartered Engineer and specialises in Transportation Network Optimisation and Operations. She brings over 25 years of experience in road safety, transportation, business case development, operations and asset management fields working predominantly for the public sector including Waka Kotahi.
Key highlights of her career include her role as National Journey Manager for NZ Transport Agency establishing Auckland Transport Operations Centre (ATOC) and embedding the journey management philosophy to deliver a consistent approach to customers’ journeys across New Zealand. She has also been involved in many technically challenging projects during planning, construction, delivery and day to day operations including roles as Transition Manager for the Western Ring Route including Waterview Tunnel and Integration Lead and Project Manager for Connected Communities in Auckland.
Kathryn is committed to managing and delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to optimise existing networks to enable improved safety and efficiency of the wider transportation system. She is driven to continuously to be curious, innovative, and open minded in seeking optimum outcomes. Kathryn embraces the need to learn and is up to date with new thinking including Vision Zero and future technological disruptions and what that can mean for customers. She also has a deep understanding of social, technical, and financial influences which need to be considered to deliver optimum outcomes.
