Lincoln Road is identified in the Auckland Plan as a ‘growth corridor’, with expected growth in traffic volumes along the route generated by future developments. It is also a key feeder road for Auckland’s Western Ring Route.
Auckland Transport is planning a major upgrade of Lincoln Road between Te Pai Place and the North Western Motorway (SH16) to help redesign the poorly performing sectors to enable the road to perform to its potential.
The upgrade will give Lincoln Road the ability to accommodate predicted traffic growth and provide for the development of a neighbourhood bus interchange proposed near the motorway. It will be future proofed with bus/high occupancy vehicle lanes and cycle lanes.

We initiated a review of the investigations previously conducted and sought and undertook further engineering investigations and design into particular complex engineering issues.
We prepared and presented statements of evidence at the Council hearing in May 2017 as well as attended and participated in mediation with appellants and their experts.
Flow was part of Auckland Transport’s team of planners, engineers and property and legal experts working with property owners and their advisors over many months to explore options and resolve issues. The last outstanding issues raised by businesses were resolved in January 2018.
