Transport and Traffic Engineering

Flow develops traffic engineering solutions for large and small projects, for public and private sector clients.  Our work includes highway schemes, bus and high occupancy vehicle schemes, on and off road cycling facilities, pedestrian measures, intersection control, private accesses, parking layout and circulation, and safety.  We provide clear unbiased advice with a strong technical background, to allow the often conflicting aspects of design to be resolved with regard to such issues as safety, efficiency, practicality, buildability and cost effectiveness.

Our projects include:

• Road design,
• Design of accesses, parking layouts and circulation,
• Design of traffic signals, signs and pavement markings,
• Design of public transport, walking and cycling facilities,
• Development of temporary traffic management plans (eg during construction of major transport projects), and
• Safety audits.

Recent projects include:

• Responsibility for the design of parking areas, site accesses, internal roads, directional signs and markings for the Sylvia Park development, and
  

• Signs, road markings and traffic signal plans for the SH20 Manukau Harbour Crossing project, for Transit New Zealand, as part of the Northern Gateway Alliance.
