2008 TDM Conference Keynote Address


Nick is from the UK, but has lived and worked in New Zealand since June 2006. His first job here was as Macro Policy Manager for Transit New Zealand, responsible for policy on integrated land use and transport planning. In November 2007, however, he moved to his current role of Manager - Strategic Direction within the Ministry of Transport. As such he is responsible for leading the development and publication later in 2008 of the Update of the New Zealand Transport Strategy and is an excellent choice for keynote speaker of this year's conference.

Nick provided an overview of the role that travel demand management and travel planning can play as part of the wider strategy for transport in New Zealand set out in the government’s discussion paper “Sustainable Transport” released in December 2007.
