Marsden Point - Ruakaka Structure Plan

The Marsden Point – Ruakaka Structure Plan (2008) is a strategic plan covering a 40km2 coastal study area, which sets out a future development vision and spatial development strategy for a new town of 40,000 people, supporting some 18,000 jobs that will be generated by the deepwater port at Northport and associated industries.

The project required extensive research, co-ordination with the planning team (including planners, economists, urban designers, engineering specialists), and the assessment of land use-transport integration, transport demands (all modes), and the development of a roading plan for the Structure Plan area.

Key aspects of this work were undertaken by Terry Church and Angie Crafer. The transport assessment formed part of the documentation for the Structure Plan.
