Wayne joined Flow in August 2017 as a Principal Transportation Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Auckland University. Previously Wayne worked in Auckland Transport for 8 years in the Traffic Engineering Team and has been involved in the design and budget management of minor improvement projects from feasibility, conceptual, scheme through to detailed design. Having work in the Council environment, his key strengths lies in his ability to communicate the process effectively to the internal and external stakeholders and applying his robust project management skills. Wayne has been involved in projects ranging from minor pedestrian improvements to large scale multi modal schemes.
Nearly a year working in Flow he has been involved in number of transport assessment projects. These have included:
• Responsibility for Long Bay Development by undertaking transport assessment of the roading design layout for individual stages of the development and subsequently provide a traffic, operation, and safety assessment report as part of resource consent lodgement
• Responsibility for University of Auckland Development by providing design expert advice with regards to feasibility assessment of the site access, primarily providing truck and car tracking assessment
• Responsibility in undertaking several transport assessments on behalf of Ministry of Education, Mercy Hospital and private developers. These transport assessments have been for large apartment complexes, mixed use developments and smaller developments
• Working in conjunction with a private developer in Fiji to undertake traffic impact assessment for a number of proposed commercial developments in Nadi, Fiji.
In addition to undertaking transport assessment, Wayne is presently acting on behalf of Auckland Transport and Auckland Council in undertaking resource consent reviews of the development applications including collating the feedback from AT internal departments and provide final review comments and request for further information from the applicant.
Under the Traffic Engineering Professional Services Supplier Panel (TTEPS) contract, Wayne has undertaken several projects that include conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, SIDRA traffic modelling and resolution report. The projects that Wayne was involved in this contract have included undertaking concept design and reporting for a future signalization of a major intersection in Silverdale, SIDRA modelling of a mid-block pedestrian signal in New Lynn town centre, undertaking detailed design of proposed pedestrian crossing on slip lanes for a major intersection in Grafton and undertaking SIDRA modelling including reporting for a proposed side road capacity improvement at a major intersection in Grey Lynn Town Centre.
