Mairi Joyce - Principal Transport Planner

Mairi is Principal Transport Planner at Flow and has nine years professional experience including over five years in the traffic engineering and transportation planning consultancy field in New Zealand.  She holds a Master of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Engineering Studies (Transportation) degree from the University of Auckland.
 
Mairi is experienced in traffic and transportation projects while working for both the public and private sectors, including Integrated Transport Assessments (ITAs), walking and cycling accessibility studies, safety audits, multi modal transport assessments, strategy development and the provision of general traffic engineering and transport planning advice.  Mairi also has substantial project management experience and has managed transportation projects for local and regional authorities within NZ and the UK.

Mairi has a strong interest in urban design and land use integration and is a keen advocate for use of alternative modes of transport. She has recently returned from a study tour where she visited shared space streetscape schemes in the UK and is in the process of writing a design guidance note for NZ practitioners involved in designing shared spaces.
