Bronwyn Coomer Smit - Director

Bronwyn Coomer Smit is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 25 years of experience in roading design engineering, transport planning and traffic engineering. She is originally from South Africa and has lived in New Zealand with her family for the past 14 years. Prior to forming Flow in early 2005 with Angie, she was a director at Traffic Design Group.:

Bronwyn’s experience includes strategic transport planning, including the development of both corridor and parking strategies, project management of transportation projects, undertaking parking studies, bus, cycle and pedestrians projects, traffic assessments for various types and sizes of developments as well as traffic engineering and geometric roading design. Bronwyn routinely acts as project manger and reviewer of project reports in her role as Director of Flow. Her major professional achievements include:
  • transport planning and traffic engineering associated with major developments in Auckland including Sylvia Park Business Centre; the North Shore Hospital, Waitakere Hospital, Mercy Ascot Hospital and Auckland Hospital as well as many Retirement Villages.
  • being part of the Council team involved in the development of the Auckland Liveable Arterials project. whereby the transport function of roads were challenged and reclassified to take into account a holistic approach to landuse and transportation planning
  • a variety of town centre parking studies including developing the Albany Centre Parking Strategy, and undertaking studies and developing parking plans for Panmure and Glen Innes.
  • presenting expert evidence at Council and Environment Court Hearings.
